Our neighbours live in dwellings close to our own and provide social cohesion.A good living relationship with neighbours combined with an extended familynetwork, provides a really strong base for raising a family. The potential for a commitment to a zero foot print life style can developoutwards from the family house into our neighbourhood and cooperation inall its forms can benefit all concerned.

4.1 The neighbourhood will ideally provide a secure base in which our family can develop.

4.2 Neighbours can plant trees, shrubs etc to encourage local biodiversity on spare land and communal areas.

4.5 Neighbours should coordinate the use of renewable energy/fuels.

4.6 Neighbours may work together to produce or purchase fresh organic local food.

4.7 Neighbours should pool energy needs, using combined heating/power systems etc.
